With its vast range of standard elements, Elesa+Ganter covers most application scenarios. But, with special designs, Elesa+Ganter also meets highly specific requirements with speed and cost-efficiency.

With one of the biggest ranges of standard parts on the market, Elesa+Ganter is capable of satisfying around 95 percent of all requirements and specifications at once. But, time and again, even this vast variety held in stock is insufficient, or designs need to be adapted to highly specific demands, or entirely new elements based on unusual specifications are necessary. Elesa+Ganter is also equipped for these contingencies and develops custom-made and individual solutions together with their customers – even if only small unit quantities are called. But, unlike the usual market customs, these solutions are not followed by immoderate price increases because Elesa+Ganter relies on intelligent production and has right from the beginning designed many of its standard elements for variability in terms of materials, dimensions, handle shapes or even functionality.

This integrated customizing approach is found in oil dipsticks, for example. As the level markings are as individual as they are indispensable, Elesa+Ganter has clearly defined their positioning with the standard GN 109. Taking the height given by the customer, two notches are milled into the dipsticks cut to individual length. Naturally, more than one notch can be milled with laser engraving, also text and numerical characters.

In its basic concept design, Elesa+Ganter has also built the customizing option into cranked handles, handwheels or tension levers: the type of the transverse bore with which the element is friction-locked and fixed to the shaft. But, as this has no radial transverse bore in the standard design, the user must take the initiative – or use Elesa+Ganter standard GN 110. This standard provides a cost-effective, precise and rapid supplement to the operating
elements with one-sided or through transverse bores or transverse threads, the latter with diameters ranging from M3 to M6.

The highest quality: Elesa+Ganter is introducing a range of edge protection profiles with and without sealing function, Elesa+Ganter is expanding its range of products once again. Edge protections profiles and edge protection seal profiles ensure secure front-side finishes on covers, cable ducts or openings, for example.

Elesa+Ganter are thereby offering everything that constitutes perfect sheet metal working from one source even for smaller or occasional use. The edge protection profiles are delivered on rolls of 20 or 50 metres in length, without a minimum order value. The edge protection profiles build not only an optically clean finish, they also protect surfaces from damage and prevent cables or tubes from being worn down in their encasing.

In addition they speed up the production phase as the burring or chamfering of edges is largely eliminated. GN2184 is available in two sizes,is made of extruded PVC and can be assembled manually. The metal clamp insert prevents it from detaching. The edge protection seal profiles GN 2180 and GN 2182 cater for edge protection and sealing in one. They are available in separate sizes and are made up of the clamping profile and the additionally extruded hollow chamber sealing profile with a softer finish. By applying the correct pressure, the profiles prevent dust, warm air or water spray from entering, while also reducing noise emissions.

The clamp insert is made of a steel wire polyester combination, enabling a comparatively low minimum placement radius without the risk of an uneven profile fit or detachment. The seal profile is affixed to the top or the side of the clamping profile. The profiles are available in a choice of EPDM or NBR, or in a combination of PVC and EPDM. NBR are particularly ideal for applications where contact with fuels or oils can occur.
The consistently high-quality materials are permanently elastic and have good resilience, making their sealing properties particularly long lasting. All profiles fulfil the RoHS and Reach requirements.

The EPDM profiles of GN2180 are additionally certified according to UL 50 and UL 94-HB.

Consisting of retention elements for a quick and safe assembly of protection panels, with no need for drilling.

The new PC series panel support clamp consists of two technopolymer bodies connected by means of an articulated joint and a screw with nut for clamping. The special conformation of the components guarantees their retention, even in
case of panel disassembly (ELESA patent), in compliance with the Machine Directive (2006/42/CE).

If the clamp is opened, the tightening screw does not yield below an extraction force of 250 N, without coming out from its housing.

On the one hand, this makes assembly and disassembly operations easier and, on the other, there is no risk of dropping inside the machinery of one or more components.

Another great advantage offered by the PC series panel support clamp is that there is no need for drilling, thanks to the thermoplastic elastomer pads overmoulded and chemically bonded to the technopolymer bodies. The pads deform upon tightening to guarantee the perfect fastening of the inserted panel, while the embossed surface avoid any possible sticking of the pad to the panel over the time. The special dimensions of the clamp allow its assembly on profiles with a width of 25 mm. The tightening clamp allows the assembly of panels with thickness from 3.1 mm to 4 mm. The assembly of panels with higher thicknesses, up to a maximum of 8 mm, is possible by inserting the spacers into a specific cavity provided in the clamp.

The tightening screw of the panel and the assembly screws of the clamp on the profile have got the same hexagonal seat. Thus, it is possible to make the assembly by using only one hexagonal key (Ch.4).

Elesa+Ganter has for many years offered locking mechanism operating along the “latch-frame” prefriction principle. But to keep a sliding door shut, you’ll need a different principle: the hook-type latch GN115.8 acting in radial direction. Not all doors, flaps or even manhole covers have frames which may be used as an abutment for locking mechanisms with clasp impeder. With hook-type latches, these locking challenges are no problem at all. Hook-type latches essentially consist of two elements, namely the fixed closing bolt and the hook including the rotating setup.

The assembly locks in radial direction to the axis of rotation, the angle of rotation is normally 90 degrees to the left or right depending on the installation of the hook and the associated stop pin. Without this pin the hook can be turned by as much as 360 degrees. As the hook features a catch bevel, mounting tolerances are no problem.

The mechanism closes up to a side offset between axis of rotation and bolt of as much as 4 millimeters. Elesa+Ganter’s hook-type latches also boast high vertical installation tolerances: the bolt rests in a longitudinal hole allowing it to be adjusted by as much as 10 millimeters which in turn delivers a perfect locking effect even with higher tolerances without needing major refitting or adjustment work.

To operate the GN 115.8 hook-type latch, Elesa+Ganter offers three options:

1. Lockable with cylinder lock and key, with and without additional operating handle.

2. Non-lockable, fitted with triangular, square, slot and VDE double bit drive with socket key.

3. The variant with star knob, wrench, knurled knob, lever or T-handle operated manually.

Casing and axes of the hook-type latch are made of die-cast zinc, the operating elements are made of plastic, all other parts are made of zinc-plated steel – all complying with RoHS, of course. In all, the best possible hook-type locking mechanism can be found for virtually every specific requirement. And if not, Elesa+Ganter will always find a non-standard solution.
